Santa Barbara Cemetery

SANTA BARBARA, CA

In 2008, Mr. Otter and I were visiting friends in Santa Barbara, and we ended up in this cemetery looking for Kenneth Rexroth’s grave, because Mr. Otter had heard it was here. This looks like a more modern cemetery than my usual haunts (get it?) but it had some great monuments, including the amazing pyramid. And there are older sections, it goes back to 1867; I think we may have stayed in the recent part because we were looking for a recent grave. Here’s a short history of the cemetery.

Five of us searched for Rexroth’s stone, reminding me of the ending of The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, but we finally found it, and had a wonderful time looking around this cemetery while we did it.
